Which States Have Not Won Miss USA

The easiest way to make history and become famous in pageantry is to become the first girl to win in a state or country where there has never been a national or international titleholder. This rule is called that "Law of Firsts." Some areas have yet to capture their crown. Which states have not won the coveted crown? Check it out below.

In 1952, Jackie Loughery made history as the first-ever Miss USA. In 1954, Miriam Stevenson became the first Miss USA to win Miss Universe. Years later Carole Gist made history as the first African-American woman to be crowned Miss USA. Brandi Sherwood became the first, and only, woman to hold both the Miss Teen USA and Miss USA titles. 

The "Law of Firsts" states that by being the first person to do something, you make history. So if your state is on the "Never Won Miss America List," be the first and secure your name in the history books.

Which States Have Not Won Miss America

In 1921, Margaret Gorman was the first Miss America ever crowned. Years later Heather Whitestone became the first deaf Miss America. Nina Davuluri was crowned the first Miss America of Indian decent, Miss Kansas who was the first girl to compete with tattoos and Miss Iowa Nicole Kelly, who was the first amputee to compete for the Miss America crown. 

All of the above mentioned have already gone down in pageant history or will because they were the first girls to win in their respective state or category. This is the power of the "Law of Firsts." This isn't to say that you will not become a famous titleholder if you are not the first to win in your state or unique category but your fame will not come as easily. So if your state is on the "Never Won Miss America List," be the first and secure your name in the history books.

Which Countries Have Not Won Miss Universe

In 1952, Armi Kuusela made history as the first-ever Miss Universe. Over two decades later Janelle Commissiong became the first African-American Miss Universe. In 2018, Angela Ponce made history as the first transgender woman to compete at Miss Universe and the organization honored her during the final show. 

All of the above mentioned have already gone down in pageant history or will because they were the first girls to win in their respective state or category. This is the power of the "Law of Firsts."
